Kevin McHale is keyed adult to co-host Teen Choice Awards

When “Glee” star Kevin McHale takes core theatre during a Teen Choice Awards Sunday night with Demi Lovato, he won’t usually be operative with a co-host. He’ll be with his friend.

McHale, who plays Artie Abrams on “Glee,” has pronounced they grew adult together. He’s now looking brazen to some back-and-forth chemistry onstage.

“It will be fun to kind of disaster around,” he pronounced in a discussion call. “I’m intensely self-deprecating, so I’m all for being done fun of.”

McHale sounds keyed adult for a show, airing during 8 p.m. on Fox.

“The live-show aspect is nerve-wracking,” he says, “but a small shaken appetite for this kind of thing is good. It keeps we on your toes.”

McHale says a hosting gig stays intimidating, even yet he seemed with some of his associate Gleeks on a 2010 uncover with Katy Perry. Since several of a masculine co-stars took part, no one chairman had too most of a spotlight.

Hosting with Lovato, though, brings some-more attention. And McHale says it’s surreal to be partial of a uncover he used to watch each summer.

He’s not a usually one who’s excited. Paul Flattery, writer of a Teen Choice Awards, says fans continue chatting online about voting for their favorite stars and shows.

The Teen Choice Awards, like other endowment shows, increasingly tie their predestine to amicable media. Flattery records that roughly each nominated artist has launched endless “vote for me” campaigns on Twitter, Facebook and elsewhere.

Categories operation from TV to movies, fashion, sports and more. The endowment statuette itself is a surfboard, that Flattery says reflects a fact that “we’re a summer show. We’re about fun and adventure.”

The showcase impulse for interactivity on a awards themselves, though, is a show’s invitation for fans to contention their possess video for Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.”

The winning video will play on a shade during a show.

“We’ve had hundreds of submissions,” Flattery says. “We have one man whose pursuit is to go by them. we have to contend he’s removing a small ill of a song.”

Fans flooded Websites behind when Lovato was announced as host, Flattery says, adding, “Twitter usually illuminated adult with fans articulate about how they wish to see her perform.”

That was not partial of a strange plan, Flattery admits, since of a bustling show.

“We have 4 full performances scheduled,” he says, “and for us, that’s a lot. We’ve already cut it down to having, we think, 13 televised awards presentations.”

Because of a practical peep host of Lovato lobbyists, though, a producers are operative on a devise “that could engage some arrange of performance.”

Add McHale to those who wish to see Lovato perform. And while he says he’ll substantially mangle into “some kind of ungainly dance during some point,” he would like to simply watch as his crony sings.

“I don’t consider Demi needs any assistance from me,” he says, “but we wish she was performing.”
