New York indie-pop trio, Fun have been busy. Their strain ‘We Are Young‘ was only featured and achieved on Glee, they’ve recently toured with both Paramore and Jack’s Mannequin and have only expelled their sophmore album, ‘Some Nights’ that strike #3 on a Billboard charts. MTV News had a possibility to discuss with lead thespian Nate Ruess about their music, sound and removing their tunes on TV.

First up, we had to find out how a rope came adult with a (fitting) name of “Fun”.

We had gotten a debate with a rope called Jack’s Mannequin, before we even had a rope name. The name had been in a behind burner forever, it was kind of on a tip of a list, they had offering us a debate and we indispensable something, so we were like ‘Uhhhh we’ll be Fun!’, we’ve embraced it since, though it took a while. [We chose it] given it’s improved than a name ‘Ice Cream’, that was also suggested in a assembly we had.” he says with a laugh.

The band’s latest album, ‘Some Nightshas been met with both fan and critics vicious acclaim, we asked Nate to tell us about a record.

We started recording it final year,” he says. “So, given a impulse a initial note was even written, there’s only been this outrageous turn of excitement. It’s always only seemed like we had this large secret, that we couldn’t tell anyone, and now, it’s only solemnly unravelling.”

The expel of Glee recently achieved a band’s strike singular ‘We Are Young‘ on a part of a strike show, we asked Nate how that came about.

The conduct of a record tag had given Glee a strain about 5 months before we’d even expelled it, with a goal of ‘If a strain ever becomes a hit, only consider about it.’ and they came behind and were like ‘We don’t caring if it’s a hit, we have a ideal stage for it, we consider it’s going to be a ideal song. It was coo for us to be a initial people ever really to have a strain on a uncover that wasn’t a strike song, afterwards to see a strain only go true adult a charts to #1 on iTunes in a USA for like a week, so their risk paid off.”

We had to provoke Nate about a fact that Glee’s chronicle of a strain strike #1 first, before their strange did. Jealous?

I’m a super competitive person, like insanely competitive and we remember that we e-mailed a low-pitched executive of Glee and was like ‘You guys are #1 right now, though we are entrance for you, we’re going to retrieve a spot!
